    1999 F4000

A couple of updates on my F4000. I found some nice CODA Calimari grips on eBay. The bike would have come with black Calimari grips, but I like the yellow with the graphics. I also swapped out the saddle for a Fabric Scoop. The original CODA 1000 Saddle is in good shape but not very...

    1999 F4000

I got the fork back from Mendon. The factory boot had a hole in it and needed to go. The bike rides great, definitely happy with the rebuild. Does anyone have any leads on CODA Weave or Calamari grips? With Gripshift do you typically shorten the grips?

Finally got around to taking the fork off. The shock works smoothly, but is soft and the damper control doesn’t do anything. I pumped it up, the previous owner gave me a shock pump with the bike, but adding air didn't make a difference. Off for a rebuild.

    1999 F4000

Degreased, cleaned and a bit of wax today. New pedals, while not era correct, they match nicely. Tomorrow the Headshok comes off to send out for rebuild. Do I ask to try and keep the old style shock boot, or go with the modern boot? My F1000 has the new style on it after a rebuild.

Fresh brake fluid, there was a considerable amount of air in the lines. Brakes are almost like new, the replacement pads are in the mail.

Thanks! I've spent far too much time checking Marketplace and Craigslist, and finally got lucky. I tinkered with the brakes a bit yesterday; the pads are old, but not worn out. I'll still replace the pads, but the brakes are spongy even after adjustment. I placed an order for some mineral oil...

Couldn't help myself, ha! Swapped back to stock stem. Dork Disc removed. Wiped down.

    1999 F4000

Kicking off a project to bring a 1999 F4000 back to life. I found it on FB marketplace for $150. It looks nearly entirely stock, with the exception of the pedals and the stem (the stock stem was included). It has CODA Expert calipers instead of the flaky CODA Compact Discs that would have come...
