Short video of the 12 speed shifting through the gears. I apologize for the poor lighting and angle. The hesitation is caused by me, not by the derailleur.

Hard to believe that it's taken me this long to get really moving along on the second repaint of this bike. Took some time today to really get working on removing the paint. Who would have thought that 2k primer, paint and clear coat were such a pain to remove! The swing arm was super easy to do, it only took about 2 hrs and it's ready for primer already.
Still have some cleaning up to do on the more stubborn spots. Then it's on to removing the anodizing on the fork clamps and other misc parts like the disc brake mount for the rear swing arm so they can be painted, as well as polishing the lower fork leg. Thank goodness the weather was in the nice and cool 80's today, still humid out thanks to all the crazy rain we've been getting here in Texas this year.

It's great to see another restoration project.
80s in TX and 90s and super humid in IL. We could use the rain, seems to be everywhere else.

Fair warning, it's more of a resto-mod. While I absolutely love the bike, I wanted something a bit different than have three bikes with black paint. I kind of wanted fix issues with the first paint job I did on the V and decided to do repaint the Super V in a color they didn't make available on the Super V line until 1998 and only that year, plus magically add a Lefty to a bike that never came with one. I also sorely needed to rebuild the rear shock. That was easier said than done, thanks to the ONE seal that is no longer available, but mission accomplished. The pivot bearings are also new. Add in some carbon fiber flair and it will ne done.

First coat of primer is done. I need to finish a few details and the bike is ready for repainting.
Other than some new bearings, bolts etc.. All the parts are ready to go as well. I am contempating removing the anodizing on the fork and painting it to match, or at least some parts of the fork. What do you think?

Got bored and played around with some AI tools to see if my idea will look good or not. You be the judge.

She would look good in white.
I have a Pearl white 97 Super V active with a polished swing arm.

Even though I generally prefer color on bikes, I think the white looks good. Pics are my 1991 Serotta NHX in fluorescent pink and orange, and my 1990 Colorado II in pink and onyx. I have two pink Cannondales as well.

Trust me, if I can find a pink one for the right price, I would ride it with a smile. I'd also love to replicate good old classic case hardening on a bike frame as well.
