1986 SR1000 Cannondale.....finally found the answer to my bike

Hello all.......I was on here about a year ago with the dilemma of what Cannondale (frame #54032086028) I own and I finally found the answer. Initially I believed I had an SR1000 due to the complete Dura Ace package including hubs and everything, but someone said impossible because my frame color was black and a 1986 SR1000 did not offer a black frame. A point was brought up that I might have a Black Lightning (they came with gold metal flake in paint) and that someone had done a complete parts switch putting Dura Ace package on that Black Lightning frame. Didn't make sense to me.
So the conclusion I have come to, after finding a remark from a person who worked at a retail Cannondale store, I have a SR1000 using a Black Lightning frame. Retail stores had various sizes, differen't colors, frames for sale and differen't hardware packages (like Dura Ace amongst others) in their parts supply. Employees could build their own bike, or build a bike for a customer. The price of the bike was determined by the hardware package it came with. So my mystery I consider solved! Just wanted to thank those that helped me, with their input, in finally arriving at a conclusion that makes perfect sense. Trying to sell the bike locally for $500. Health forces sale.

It's always hard to distinguish whether a bike came from the factory in the state where we see it currently, whether it was built by a dealer to the customer's preferences, or whether it was changed sometime later.
