Gemini frame build....questions.

Recently getting back into biking and may have found a nice frame on which to build. I have been out of biking about 20 years and therefore have missed a lot of the changes and upgrades that have happened.

Will the gemini frame accept most of the popular current forks? Will the shock still be supported for maintenance and spring changes or are there current retrofittable shocks that can replace it? How wide of a tire can the swing arm support? Is it adaptable to current spec brake disc kits?

Thanks!

Hello,

The Gemini is a good one. There are a few different ways to build it. Yes, it can take modern forks. even tapered forks. you will need an adapter. I believe this rear swing will take a 27.5 rim/tire. it is your call of how you would like to build it... As for the rear brake it does accept modern brakes. I have 2013 XT on my '05 Prophet.

Thanks for the reply. How wide of a tire can I go on the existing swing arm. I've noticed that MB tires are noticably wider than they were on my old GT from the 90s...

Unfortunately that information is blank.

In my prophet I am running a 27.5x 2.25 or maybe 2.35's. I will have to check.

I am pretty sure you can roll a 27.5 in that rear swing. As for a 26". I am pretty sure you can go 26x.2.3 or possibly wider. This frame is more of a DH/FR frame.
