Hi folks. Great to join a group of fellow vintage Cannondale fans. I posted my bike (1989 R300 upgraded) in the gallery last weekend after finally getting it in shape for photos. I've had it for over 25 years and am still using it but mostly on a trainer since I really dislike riding in city traffic or repetitive loops at the park.

I just got a Wahoo Kickr Snap smart trainer, so some of you may run into me plodding along in Zwift once my AppleTV arrives in the mail next week. I'll probably be easy to spot as the slowest person on the road, so be sure to say 'hi' when you pass me!

Cheers,
Hugh

Nice looking early road bike. I still have the 1987 that I bought used circa 1991. Feel for you in terms of the traffic. I can sometimes ride for an hour or more and never get passed by a car.

Thanks, BL1987. Nice ride you got there, too! I'm jealous of your riding conditions. That's how it was when I bought the bike and lived upstate- hilly roads with few cars and wide shoulders, where the only regular worries would be dogs off their leash and the occasional redneck. Still, as nice as it was, it didn't keep me from getting into a head-on collision with an inattentive driver which totaled my first bike [a Schwinn 564] and necessitated this purchase in 1992. I've been in the city full-time since 1995, so my road mileage had dropped to almost nothing for the last 30 years. I've spent more time upgrading this bike than riding it. Hopefully Zwift will shift that balance in the other direction.

Yeah, you always have to watch the 4 wheelers, as you can be fairly sure they aren't watching you. I narrowly missed a car that ran a stop sign at a T intersection.
