Hello Everyone,

I recently acquired a F900 in Fire Mountain Fade. I believe it is a year 2000 with the rare XS frame size.

I am amazed at how well the paint has held up being that this bike is 25 years old. (Certainly has aged better that I have)

I took it out on some local trails and was amazed at how sensitive the Headshock was over even the smallest of obstacles, yet firm enough to prevent reaching it’s full range of travel.

Please enjoy the pictures and thank you for creating this forum,

- AH

That is a pretty cool fade paint job!

There are a lot of bikes here on Vintage Cannondale that have amazing-looking paint for their age. My 1996 R600 looks pretty good after almost 30 years, though it isn't perfect - scratches here and there, some paint chips from chain drops....

Welcome and great looking bike. The paintjob is pretty close to what my 2001 Jekyll 2000 has (Fire pit fade).

I think the paint really stands out considering the bike is 24+ years old. I should also thank you since your post made me want to ride the Jekyll to work today since the weather isn't going to be too bad this evening.

Hello "New York" neighbor. Love your Y2K F900 barn find. Just today, I rode my 1999 C'dale T1000 in the rain from Chelsea up across the GWB, and totally agree about the paints of that era. I've have and/or had Rivendell, Velo Orange, and Crust frames that are much younger than the 1999 T1000, and none had paint that held up as well. Something to be said for automotive paints sealed with proper clearcoats on aluminum tubesets. Cheers.
