Help on identifying frame.

I bought this frame yesterday. It is based in Germany. I can´t find any frame number on the bike, which is weird. I got the information from the previous owner, that the fork ist replaced. I also have seen that the bike has mismatched wheels.

Try looking for the serial number on the underside of the seat stay, usually non drive side. It's approximately 1989 but I think the LX rear derailleur is later.

The bike is an 89, the owner found the serial number(based on his reddit posts).. as is looking for leads on a correct fork.

It's definitely a nice canidate for a good overhaul, to include fork replacement since early suspension forks are POOPOO.

I kind of wish Cannondale had made the top tube cable guide out of metal and kept them on the 3.0 series bikes longer. Having the full cable housing just looks nicer overall. That's a complaint I have about all the shift cables too.. I just don't think it looks good, nor is it wise to have the bare cable exposed to the elements.

Guessing that eliminating as much housing as possible is partially a weight weenie thing, but it does reduce cable friction - especially helpful on the rear derailleur.

I think it is a 1990, it was the only year with round chainstays and cantilevered dropouts. Probably a late 1990 (August +/-) with the decal on the downtube or it could be a euro spec thing. I would love to see the serial number on it.
