I am not sure the year on this one. I don’t have the bike in hand it’s in transit.

Looks right, SunTour GPX 6 speed build. I have been looking for one since mine was stolen in 1995. My first Cannondale, purchased new.
Yeah I read that, hence why I posted. I also read that you bought it in moline. I grew up in Iowa City. I unfortunately think it’s a 18”. I will keep you posted if it’s bigger maybe we can work something out.

I mean if you are still interested. Otherwise I will just flip it. The owner tells me it has been inside a “barn” for the last 25 years.

Thanks. Pretty sure mine was 22", but may have been 20".

I've made a lot of trips to IC in the past 30 years, mostly to see bands at Gabe's. Uncle Tupelo, the Jayhawks, the Flaming Lips, Link Wray, House of Large Sizes, Tommy Keene, the Bent Scepters, Alejandro Escovedo, Mike Watt, Yo La Tengo, the Dangtrippers, Dick Dale, Polara, Wilco, the Hang Ups, the Dirty Three, Marshall Crenshaw. Wish that I'd kept track, there are many (many, many) more.

Damn man how big are ya. It’s not a 22” but it will be a beaut. It’s my first Cannondale. Been flipping bike since the pandemic started.

Iowa City will always be special. 1989 was a special year.

Let me know if it turns out to be a 20" frame. 18" will be too small for me.
It’s an 18” too small for me. It’s not in as good a shape as the seller led me to believe. But still a cool bike. I will probably clean it up and sell it. It does have a cool vintage Cannondale rack and some Cannondale water bottle holders. Makes the purchase all that much better. Looks like everything is original. The bar ends as salsa’s. Is the serial number on the bottom bracket? I looked but couldn’t see it. It’s dirty down there.

Serial number is usually on the underside of the chain stay, but could be on the underside of the seat stay. That said, I have two 3.0 Series MTB frames here that I can't find a serial number on.

Thanks for the information. I am going to clean her up and see what I got to work with.

It looks great to me. I've purchased a few XCD cranks on eBay for a planned reproduction of my old bike, but yours is nicer than any that I have landed. You really should spring for a set of top tube cable guides.

I totally would if the bike was the right size. But I am selling it locally.

I do actually have the guides, but the push rivets have broken. Any idea on a source for new rivets without buy the entire set?

I don't. You could probably experiment with substitutes. I can't remember how big around they need to be. Toothpicks? Aluminum pop rivet shanks?
