The F500 wasn't introduced until 1995, so I wouldn't look at geo charts previous to that year. The 1996 catalog says seat tube length on a medium F500 CAAD2 is 17.6", a large is 19.5", measured to top of tube.

The early serial number was production date. Since new models were introduced in late summer, a frame dated 1984 could easily be a 1995 model.

CAAD3? Would have been 1996-1998, possibly a color only sold in Europe. 1999 F1000 was CAAD4. Newer had disc brakes.

That sounds right, especially if it says Optimo on the top tube. There was a similarly painted (white with aqua/blue flowers and such) CAAD9 frame that came out a couple (or so) of years later. I picked one up used for a neighbor about a year ago. I can check the serial number for year if needed.

I think the CAAD7 was only made in 2003. I'd be fairly certain that Campagnolo did the gold logos on the components. Cannondale may have added the decals on the rims. Nice find.

You got a great deal. I'd need to see more detail photos to pin year and model down. Looks circa 2000 to me. I'd guess a Road Warrior. Check the serial number and at least pin down the year. Components should help determine model.

Great job. It's good to know who works on Headshoks. I have a 1996 Silk Road 500 that had a rusted up Headshok when I got it. I took it apart and cleaned everything up. Got in working order but may need some parts in the future.

The steerer tube on my 1988 54.5 cm SR800 measures 155 mm. You should be good with a fork with about 150mm or longer. You can always cut a fork that's too long. If it's not threaded down far enough, a good bike shop will be able to extend the threads.
