Installed some fenders and did some paint touch up after sanding with 600 grit.

I would never have thought these would exist. Cars, trains, airplanes, etc. Certainly. Bicycles? And Cannondale at that. Very neat!

No worries! I was concerned that there wasn’t a modern chain that would play nice. I don’t have much bike mechanic-ing experience. So it’s trial and error and a bunch of reading about others experience. It’ll be a bit before I can ride. It’s -12C with 30cm of snow on the ground today.

Just ordered some Kenda cyclo cross tires for my ST400. No studded tires exist for 27”. Might look for some fenders while I’m at it.

I’m liking the thread drift as I watch more snow falling outside. I’ve never thought about studded bike tires before. I’ve just finished a bit of reading and like the idea. But I’m not a bicycle commuter. Not sure if it would be worth it to equip a bike for recreational riding. Probably not at...

Hope so too. I was walking normally late yesterday. Still some soreness. So it must’ve hurt worse initially than I thought(pain vs damage). Pretty sure I’ll be good for a pedal once the roads clear. Snow again…

I considered riding my F3 but decided to wait for an injury to heal (tendon went twang like a rubber band while sprinting across the tarmac last week) before risking another.

KMC 8 speed. The only manufacturer of reputable quality that has a “gold” chain. I haven’t got out on the road since I got the derailleurs adjusted perfectly. But it is working great with the bike in the repair stand.

Put new tires on a Black Lightning yesterday. Beautiful day for a ride today. But traction on the corners might be difficult.

Anyone know the part number for Dia Compe 400 brake pads? About to put new tires/tubes on and thought I’d put new brake pads on. They’re not rock hard but doubt their performance is very good. I’ve got the gears figured, about to put on new rubber and going to pedal to a high rate of speed...

Makes me think I better service my headshok sooner rather than later. Mine is a decade newer. I wonder at what age or use the seals degrade to the level yours did.

Hopefully a good flushing with something like mineral spirits will clean all those decomposed elastomer bits out…

@JohnnyD Are you suggesting a daily bowel movement before a bike ride would improve performance due to less energy use because of less mass?? ;)

The previously linked Suntour pdf, page 10 was the solution to my shifting woes. The selector ring on the rear shifter was not selected in “UL”. It wasn’t selected in any of the 3 choices. But the shifter “clicked” when I used it, so I didn’t think I had a shifter problem. Once UL was dialed in...
