About a month ago, I got in an accident with this bike. I was going around 20 mph when a car pulled out, and my fork was folded in. Thanks to rock solid american engineering, that was the only thing that was damaged or bent on the whole frame. With the addition of some serious wheel truing, I just recently got her back from the shop with a new steel fork... And of course, she still rides buttery smooth. Thank you Cannondale, for making such a reliable and brilliantly built bicycle.
Upgraded Jekyll 500 - XT front and rear derailers Race Face bottom bracket chain rings and cranks Spinergy Rev-X Wheelset... More (Carbon) to come ;)

I bought the bike for around 500.00 in 1993 from a shop in Indianapolis called Bicycle Gargage Indy. The bike has been a joy to ride, made a upgrade on the shifters and new wheels. Hard to buy a new bike when this one still works great.
This is my 2002 Black Lightning. I bought it via ebay in late 2008, have been racing / training on it as my primary bike since then. I'm a Campy fan, love the special edition stuff, and the Neutron wheels are great, they are tough and light and I've won races with them. I honestly don't know much about the history of this bike - when C'dale released this model, I was not active in the sport so I'd never heard of it till I saw the ebay listing. I'm always suprised when guys notice and...

Hey Guys, Just wanted to share my latest build with you and to say thanks for answering my questions over the last several months while building this bike. I have learned so much just by building this bike. Building a WW bike is definitely a great challenge! This bike is a rocket! It accelerates like my road-bike but can take on the rough stuff with no problems! While some parts are a bit controversial (nobu shifters), I do not race and will just use the bike for cross training rides...
