Mountain Rigid
Bought frame and fork used on Ebay. Most of the parts came from an old mountainbike with a steel frame, the wheels are the original ones from a 2001 Jekyll 600. The incredibly durable Chris King headset was included with the frame/fork set, stem and seatpost had to be purchased due to different diameters. Other components are: brakes: Avid 20 levers: Avid 1.0 L crankset: Suntour XC Ltd bottom bracket: Shimano BB-UN 55 pedals: Shimano PD-M 324 front derailleur: Suntour XC Comp rear...

Hi. This is my SM700 which i bought new in 1990. Mine is slightly different from the catalogue because it came with pepperoni forks instead of the Ritchey Logic forks. It has Suntour XCD mech, XCD Xpress shifters with dia combe XCE brakes, with Scott/Mathauser brake pads. The rims are Ritchey Vantage Expert with XCD hubs and Ritchey Megabite Z Max wcs tyres. It has the great colour scheme of black with the lime splatter and an Odyssey Areator seatpost pump, with the only change i made was to...
3 months of browsing craigs list led me to this cherry of a find for $100. new tires and chain, along with simple adjustments and i went for a 20 mile ride around town the next day. Swapped out the flat bar for a riser bar as well as a shorter stem. will be doing a complete restoration/rebuild over time as money permits

1992 M800 Beast of the East. NOS frame, mix of LX and XT. I was going for black components more than exact period correctness.
A Spring local CL's find. In great hardly used shape. It was used by the first two owners for only a people trailer transporter and a Bob trailer hauler whom the bike was to small for his large stature.....my luck. All original but the tires and grips...and an upgrade to the pedals. The Cannondale's first ATB and its a treat cruising the neighborhood and the bike paths with it.....but I respect the earlier Mountain Bikers that could take this out in the wilderness, stronger constitution...

I bought this bike off Ebay a few years ago to replace my previous Cannondale. I'm not sure what year it actually dates from due to it having been re-sprayed and I can't seem to make out any trace of the serial number. If anyone wants to make an educated guess to date it, feel free to do so. Otherwise, just enjoy the photos (taken on our local high spot of Cleeve Hill). UPDATE!!! The bike was stolen today (29 Jan 2013) from outside the Cheltenham Leisure Centre between 5.20pm and 6.20pm. I...

I am the second owner of this '93 M1000. Got it for £100 off a colleague at a previous employer. It was a forced sale, his missus having declared a 1 in 1 out policy on new mountain bike acquisitions. He had tears in his eyes and I now know why. Fantastic flea-light frame. I commute about 1000 miles a year on it without complaint and take it away with panniers to the Lake District at least once every year too. Gears, wheels and brakes have all been upgraded. Magura HS33 rim brakes fitted...

I got this Bike at City of Bicycles in Inglewood. I was in my 2nd year of college and had one of my first jobs. I had a cutout from a magazine of a SM-900 and this guy on a trail in Moab Utah. He had the same green one pictured in the 1987 catalog. I said I got to get one of those. And when I went to my local bike shop, the SM-600 was close enough. I later changed out the nutted wheels with some quick release dark ones. And I changed out the stem and then the seat. And since the...
