R800 cad3 1996

Hi all,

He has been in a dry basement for 20 years. I have the intention of restoring it and also driving it. I wonder if it's the original? I worry because they are crank and Wheel from Campagnolo but group set was from Shimano Dura ace 7700.

That's a 1997 model year R800 but it may have been manufactured in 1996. Original equipment was a full Shimano 105 group. Shifters, hubs and brake calipers would have been 1055 models, with the crankset being FC-1056, the derailleurs RD-1056 and FD-1056. I have used examples of most of those parts here. Original rims would have been Mavic CXP 14. The Campagnolo rims are much more expensive and desirable today. Stem was an Alico, I have a NOS one here if you want to replace the ITM. I may also have an original Profile Hammer handlebar but need to check clamp diameter. Seatpost was a Kalloy SP-248 and saddle was a Coda 900. Biggest issue with your bike is the fork. It came with an Advanced Composites carbon fork which won't be easy to find. I'd consider other brands such as Time, Look, Kestrel, etc. as it's getting tough to find 1" carbon forks these days.
