V-brake upgrade

Hello from Italy,
I'm thinking to buy a 1996 CAAD3 mtb and I saw in the catalogue that all bikes have cantilever brake.
I want to put V-brakes. Could it be a problem?
I did it in another bike and the stays flexed too much.

The 1997 frames came with V brakes. I don't think there were any changes to the frames.

Hello Italy. If the bike was designed for 26-inch wheels and still has 26-inch wheels, then any V-brake should reach the rim properly on those cantilever brake bosses. If not, Paul Component Engineering makes the Moto Lite V-brake that lets you adjust the pads up and down to solve exactly this problem. Powerful and jewel like, but expensive. Cheers.
