Welcome. That SR400 looks to be in great shape for its age and all original as far as I can tell. Try some lacquer thinner on a rag to clean up the brake hoods. Super V looks nice too. Wish I could find a good deal on one locally.

I have some new rear Cannondale rear racks in the attic. Purchased from Bikewagon about 10 years ago. I should have one on a bike somewhere but don't remember what bike. Will look for one.

Great that you found a reasonably priced frame. I like the period correct build. My 1993 M800 is one of my favorites. I've never felt the need to change anything from the stock build.

Measure the internal diameter of your fork. I don't own a 2.8 frame of that vintage but my understanding is that the outside diameter of the fork was 1 1/4", which would make the internal diameter 1 1/8", or 28.6 mm. Basically the only design/dimension difference between a Control Tech quill...

Thanks. I didn't know aero bars existed that weren't round but assumed that they were round enough to take conventional bar end shifters. I've long given up on time trials but they are nice on a gravel/cx/touring bike. Let me know if you come up with pricing.

I'm guessing the book is hard bound and won't lay completely flat to scan. I would try a few pages and see if the scans come out mostly legible.

Welcome. I believe that the 1993 fork was 1 1/4", so the quill diameter is 1 1/8". It would have been -15 or -17 degrees but Control Tech made other angles. There are a few on ebay but they are all MTB stems. 25.4 mm drop bars exist but the MTB stems might have to be modified to get a drop...
