Do you have a photo pf your current setup? I think as we get older, riding up right is just fine. It also depends if this is a full MTB or more of a city bike. If you are doing a full decent. Flat bars are the best. But it depends on your ridding.

Are the XTR 985 just shifters? If so, they should mount up with those levers. Awesome build. :)
