Another paint job that's not in the catalog. Mine is Team Blue with yellow decals. I've never seen one in ChromaLusion Jade.

Wish that blue one was an SM800, which was my first Cannondale - stolen in 1995. I've never seen another.

I think that they were black only that one year. The first few years of CX bikes were only sold in one color - at least according to the catalogs. Interesting that the Headshok version is titled CX Ultra in the catalog but still has XS800 decals.

Could you loosen the left side nuts enough so that you could get wrenches on the right side and lock them, then go back and adjust and lock the left side?

I'll try to remember to check a 28 on one of my 2.8 frames. I know that I've run them on earlier and later Cannondales but the aluminum fork on the 2.8s might have less clearance.

I can't recall seeing a size that wasn't in the catalog before. I'm thinking that the 1985 catalog has the wrong sizes listed. 1986 sizes for the same frames were all even numbers. Great bike.

Does anyone make a 1 1/4" quill to threadless adapter? Simple to make but surely weighs quite a bit more than the Innicycle setup.

I have purchased 4 or 5 Cannondale touring bikes from the 1980s but would agree that more road models were sold. Later touring models seem to be more scarce than the early ones.

I wonder if it could have been a mid model year introduction. If so likely would have been called SR1000. I think that the 1990 models have the paint color split closer to the center of the tubes. No Campagnolo on Cannondales in 1991 as far as I can tell. Does it have a Regina freewheel?

The lock nut for the hub should be easy to find if you want to keep the present rear wheel - if only for a spare. If my bike I would keep it pretty much original except for maintenance items. Bar end shifters would be a nice addition. The indexed 7 speed Shimano bar end shifters are getting...

Great find there, looks to be all original. Does it have the Mavic seatpost and Turbo saddle? I have a pair of wheels with the Dakar hubs. I don't remember what the rims are but either 700C or tubulars.

That's a nice looking T600. I like that it has fenders. I think of Portland being really rainy but don't remember rain when I've been there.

Didn't the team wear gold one year for at least one stage? Seems like it had some Roman theme. Another time in solid yellow when Cipollini? was in the yellow jersey. I think the team got fined for wearing alternative colors.
