You should look for a pink 1987 SR600 (my first Cannondale road bike) or SM800. I have a nice pink 58 cm SR600 frameset here, been slowly acquiring the Shimano 600 bits to build it back to original spec.

I will have the look for the MKS beartraps. The SunTours bring more money than I want to spend. I have lots of SPD pedals but seldom want to take the time to change shoes.

I lived in NW suburbs of Columbus in the mid 1980s. Only got to Cleveland for one weekend a year for the CART races. I really like southern OH for the hills and woods. Thinking that the winters would be much milder as well.

I'm no expert on the various models. They had numbered models as well, in the 1980s/1990s Cannondale used 984s and 986s on MTBs and touring bikes. You might look through the listings here and see what models had similar pads...

Looks like a 1993. Did you add the RaceFace crank? Are those SunTour pedals or perhaps copies?

I think that's actually a 1993 RT3000. I'm only seeing Ritchey cranksets on the 1993 and 1994 tandems. 1995-1999 were Sugino. Quite a few newer parts on it - shifters, rear derailleur, brakes, front rim, perhaps more.

I don't think function will suffer without the rubber part. I think it's just there to fill a small gap between the lever and the backing plate/lever stop.

A new one must have been very expensive. SunTour did make both 6 and 7 speed indexed bar end shifters. Perhaps when you have more time on the bike your hand will fall to the right spot without looking down.

I had never seen the carbon Shimano brake arch before. Was is specific to a parts group or sold separately as an add on?
