Salt can really accelerate aluminum corrosion. A friend had an aluminum Specialized with severe corrosion under the front derailleur clamp. I hope your frame isn't too badly corroded.

Interesting bike. Perhaps only sold in Europe with the Nexave parts. I don't know if Cannondale printed a separate catalog for Europe at the time. I've never seen an H/SH frame before that didn't have cantilever posts.

The range would appear to be a 900M in 1996 to a Tarantula Competition in 1999. Is this for your F1000 or another bike?

That stem was also used on the 1991 SM2000. Are you looking for one with the Cannondale branding, or something functionally equivalent? Nitto probably made the same stem for other bike brands. There is a similar steel stem shown in the 1991 catalog on the SM800 but it's black and lacks branding.

I think it would make a nice gravel bike, not like I need another. I might be interested though. Top tubes seem really long on these frames. Normally I like the largest MTB/hybrid size but the 62 cm top tube on the Jumbo sounds like a stretch.

Not that I have what you are looking for but are you looking for a Magic branded crank that was made before Cannondale branded them as Coda? I think the 1994 Cannondales were the first models to come with Coda cranks.

What is your saddle height on your road bike? I am about 6' tall but ride with an unusually high saddle position for my height. I have a 1999 F900 in XL size. Saddle top to center of bottom bracket spindle is about 82 cm. My guess is that a large is a good starting point for most 6 footers.

The frame looks like a 2009 Quick 5 but the fork doesn't match the tig welded steel fork shown in the catalog. Fork looks like the 2010 Fatty. V on the bar code sticker translates to 2010 production. So it's perhaps a 2010 Quick that somehow got 2009 decals. What's the standover height?

I agree. I have such a stock of 8/9/10 speed parts from the 1990-2010 era that I have been able to build and maintain everything I've come across with parts on hand. One of these days I'm going to have to give some modern parts a try.
