Shimano did make those with both flat and concave backs, but the concave ones were shaped to fit standard steel down tubes.

I think disc front/V brake rear is reasonable. Will be interested to hear if you go that route and what you come up with for mechanical disc brakes.

I didn't know that they were ever plastic, thought they were always die cast. I will have to look at my mid 80s frames. There are a couple of other threads on this subject in the wanted section. I posted a link to an aftermarket set there, but they were out of stock last time I checked.

I have a 2011 CAADX Cyclocross frame that I like better than my older XR800s because the geometry is better for me on the 2011 frame. I've seen new Leftys on some high end custom titanium frames, so they must have their fans.

I don't recall seeing that color. I have a 1997 R300 frameset in Galaxy Red sitting here in the stand. I have not seen many R200 or R300 bikes. It seems that Cannondale sold a lot more of the mid range models.

Doubt it was built as a 2000 model with a June 1998 build code. Could well be a warranty frame. I built my 1999 CAAD4 road from a NOS frameset in 1999 or 2000, and it came with R4000 decals and same Team Blue/yellow quadwrap decals as the OP's bike. So there were definitely frames out there...

I was mistaken about not having a 1984 frame. One of my touring bikes is BB0634. I would say that the 34 rules out the month/day option. Still need to check the other two old frames.
