    COVID Convert - SR600

Pretty common comment about the 3.0 frames being too stiff. I have around 8,000 miles on one and still think it's a pretty great bike. A lot of those opinions come from guys schooled on Reynolds 531 frames, which although they ride better, also are noodles when it comes to transferring pedal...

    Cannondale Fanatic!

Everyone who has owned one seems to love the CAAD10s. There was an interesting recent thread about favorite CAAD frames on the paceline forum. There was a wide range of favorites but I'd guess that the 10s got the most votes. Hope you will attempt to fill in the gaps in your stable between...

    1986 SR400 Restoration

I think those rivets just plug vent holes needed for welding the frames.

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

It looks great. Hope that the weather improves, would be a shame to get it messed up on the first ride.

Old Guy, but New to Cannondale!

Welcome. I can't see much of the details of the bike but the paint looks right for a 1986 SR400.

    1998 Killer V on Craigslist!!!

Great deal. Just needs a bigger frame.

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

Thanks. Odd that when I searched their other items for Cannondale, I got no results.

    3.0 Series with 26" wheel

Happy to help. Bike looks to be in nice condition other than the paint loss from chain slap.

    3.0 Series with 26" wheel

Looks to be a fairly original 1989 SM400. I can't see anything that's not original outside of tires, saddle, pedals, and bar ends.

Yep , another what is it ?

Cannondale used the same concept but the pieces that fit next to the down tube had a concave on the tube side and were made of what we refer to as pot metal. It corrodes easily and it's common for the threaded portion that extends inside the tube (on the right hand side in the picture) to break...

    1997 F700 - Full Restoration

Looks like they did a great job with the paint. Where did you purchase the stickers?

Yep , another what is it ?

Those shifter bosses look different from the die cast ones that Cannondale used. Yours appear to be made of machined steel but the originals could have been replaced.

    3.0 Series with 26" wheel

Sounds like you have a 16" frame, the 33rd built on December 16, 1988. It would be a 1989 model. Color should ID the model, though two models were painted red that year. I always upload images from my computer, so not sure why you are having trouble linking them.

Maximun tire size for Cannondale Cyclocross 800 2004...

These frames pre-date "gravel riding" by a number of years. They were built for traditional CX racing for the most part. Stock tire size was 30mm circa 2000. There really isn't a lot of extra area to work with to gain more tire clearance. I'm not an engineer but I'd guess that quite a bit...

Yep , another what is it ?

Could you elaborate on this, I'm not following: "Also the down tube bosses are connected together via a thread running right through the downtube." Klein would be the logical alternative to Cannondale. I have one here but it's from 1996 and I'd say your frame is quite a bit older. Klein is a...

Maximun tire size for Cannondale Cyclocross 800 2004...

That's what I guessed. It's too bad that there isn't more clearance in the rear. I'd like to try 40+ mm tires on a road bike but will wait until some trickle down to my price range.

    1991 sr800 from the shed

On 1987 bikes, the initials were of the person that painted the frame. That may have only been on the custom graphics frames, and I don't think it was done for more than a year or two.

Yep , another what is it ?

Lots of similarities to Cannondale, but the derailleur hanger and top tube cable stops don't look right. Check undersides of seat and chain stays for stamped dot matrix serial number. Is that a steel fork? Resembles the ones I used to buy from Hoosier Bicycle Supply.

    1991 sr800 from the shed

The 7 speed shifters should index fine on an 8 speed cassette, you just have to give up either the small or large cog. Did you check the under side of both chain and seat stays for the serial number?

    Cannondale CAAD7 OPTIMO ( SAECO )

That's a beauty. I'm almost glad that it's too small for me as I have two CAAD7 framesets sitting here now. Interesting that the 2003 catalog doesn't show a Saeco model. Does the fork have an aluminum or carbon steer tube?
