    SM600?

For Suntour Accushift I used this bulletin for my 88 Black Lightning. It worked.

    1991 SM1000 Project

I don’t know if it will help for your vintage of shifters. But I have a pdf bulletin for Suntour and it worked for the series on my 88 Black Lightning.

I think I found my dream bike.

Now that this thread has jogged my memory I do recall seeing an ad for one for sale. It was a red one. I don’t remember where I saw it for sale but it wasn’t a ridiculous in the thousands price. A couple of years ago I was looking at thousands of ads a month. That’s my excuse for not remembering...

That’s pretty neat. I did not know they existed.

    Cannondale BMX on fbm

I’ve seen vintage BMX bikes in my area list for what I think are ridiculous prices. I don’t keep track of the ads to see if they disappear quickly. It would be weird (to me) if that segment of the vintage bike market values were much higher than all the rest.

    Cannondale BMX on fbm

Neat. I did not know they made them.

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

Spring is here so I thought I would revive this thread just like reviving my riding. Normally I don’t stop to smell the roses. But the view from on top of “The Hill” was a good one today.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

Like I said @JohnnyD I may have set it up wrong. I learn better that way. Sad but true… ;)

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

Huh! Looks like you’re onto something mate. The “noodles” must’ve been swapped in the past. I made sure I kept the parts that I removed from the donor bike segregated (front—rear). Yes the cables were left long on purpose. For the eventual canti swap.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I’m no expert on setting up v brakes but they seem easier to set up than cantilever style. It is possible that I didn’t set up the rear correctly. But setting them up for the rear tells me this frame wasn’t designed for them. The rear top tube cable guide isn’t positioned in a way that allows...

    1989 SR600

Very nice looking! An original owner bike of this vintage isn’t common. Any interesting stories that you’d like to share? Local races, hair raising rides, etc.

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I got bored this morning so I made the BOTE rideable with parts I have on hand. It shifts and stops and rolls just fine. For now.

Well it’s “mostly” a bike. Just a couple odds and ends and you’d be riding!

Beast of the East- Orange Splatter edition

I’m glad I left it to a pro at the LBS. The ”cheapest” tool was too expensive. My decades of rushing projects that resulted in mistakes is finally causing me stop and pause. At least this time…. A stomach bug bit me earlier this week so bike work stopped. I’m a little hesitant on finishing the...
