Does your stem have a two bolt removable face plate? I don't know what the maximum rise is on available handlebars but a removable face plate might be helpful getting it through the stem. You probably have the most rise available on Headshok stems, so there's not much hope on improvement...

That looks to be a 1991 frame, sold only as a frameset in 66 cm. Essentially an SR or SC600 with the 105SC build.

Sure, if priced right. Looks to be in good shape, perhaps better than pictures show. I just payed $150 for a similar vintage Cannondale MTB in much rougher shape.

That's going to be a tough one to find. I think many more were sold in Slate with pink decals. I own a few 1987 road bikes but none of them have the custom graphics.

I have the same bike with pretty much the original LX build. Cool to see the Kooka crank and Ringle(?) stem.

Ran a large black Topstone 4 through the system and came up with it in stock at 5 dealers in the Midwest. Ran it through in Mango and found it in stock at dealers in NY, UT, WA, and FL. So the system evidently works. Seems like it's going to be tough to find.

I ran it through the Cannondale dealer search but the site didn't show any in stock at MI, IL, WI, IN dealers. Just said call for availability. May try some other models and see if it does actually show some as in stock at a dealer.

Glad to hear that you found a workable pedal setup. The Shimano shoes look like they might be easier to clip in than most MTB shoes.

I have the same frame, pretty sure it's a 1997.

If you have rapidfire shifters I would stick with the same era XT front derailleur, that is: 8 speed. The newer 9 speed models may have been made for a different pull ratio. I think you would be safe with either M735 or M737 front derailleurs.

Assume that it sold locally. I can't imagine that it would remain unsold for long anywhere in the country at that price.
