Horrible. Not much bike riding going on.

    Highest touring model seen

I was in my LBS the other day for supplies and saw a 1997 T2000 being worked on; wheels getting trued. It looked minty. Sorry folks I failed to take a photo.

    1997 H500

IdahoBrett's Bike Shop got real crowded over the winter and I threw the proverbial group of darts at the dart board this spring to see what would go (listed several bikes for sale). The ST400 went to a good home. A young fella.

    1997 H500

I didn’t see that, good eye! Reminds of a bike parts ad I looked at last year that had a bong off to the side. edit: now that I’ve looked at the pictures again, I can’t help but see the sign. Odd that it never appeared to me before. Functional fixedness on the bike or something.

    1997 H500

Another great deal local to me is this hybrid. It’s only $95 and it is in the biggest size offered for 1997. The brake set doesn’t seem to match the catalog. No surprise there. Aside from the obvious; ride it. What can one do to a hybrid? What are they good at? Drop bars? Gravel bike?

    1995 Killer V500

It disappeared from my local craigslist, so I assumed it sold. This morning’s routine whilst drinking coffee and perusing the local classifieds revealed it is back up for sale and half off at $100. I’m out of town for a few days. But if is still there when I return…even if it fits nobody in the...

    Should I keep or sell?

If space isn’t a premium or you have a hole to hide it in, I say keep it. If you’re just going to sell it then don’t waste any time or parts on it. My opinion based on my recent experiences in selling bikes.

    New rubber

The brackets are slid all the way to the back of the slots @JohnnyD I’ll have to fabricate or find longer brackets. There is an ad on my local craigslist for a half dozen racks at $15 a piece. I may go check them out. Maybe I’ll find a better fitting one.

    New rubber

While attached to the correct part of the frame it’s still evident the rack is for a smaller frame. There is tire clearance. So it stays. For now.

    Sobe promotional

I’ve been eyeballing a Sobe promotional mtb on ebay. The seller says it’s a 2000 year model. I recall seeing pictures somewhere, but no information. In one of the pictures I can see a SRAM rear derailleur. I’m guessing the M400 is the base for the build. Ebay Sobe

    New rubber

I think I finally convinced Mrs.Idaho that I can put her on a bike better than her Huffy. Her comment was; “Wow! It does shift nice!” I knew better than to launch into a diatribe about quality derailleurs, once tuned properly work great. I just told her to go for a ride and shift the darn thing.

    New rubber

Thought I’d work on Mrs.Idaho’s bike today. I serviced the hubs and installed a set of Continental Town&Country tires. And installed a rear rack. I need to work on leveling it a bit. Funny it looked level while the bike was in the stand. It’s not the correct size (I think). Also I didn’t have...

I saw that listing. Great condition. I’m glad it is too small for me as well.

From experience, that tends to make my hands go all tingly.

    1995 Killer V500

I really like this gem that came up for sale on my local craigslist. The original owner is asking $200. I’d be on my way tomorrow to pick it up, but it is only a 17” frame. I see in the catslog it was offered in bigger sizes of 19” and 21”. Being 6’2” I’m guessing a 21” would be my more size. I...

Where did you ride your Cannondale today?

@letsbike you sure are quite the Joker Great weather this week. It only broke 90 degrees (32C) one day. I’ll add the dork disc to maintenance items to do list. I tried to get one last trip out of the headshock. I hadn’t rode it since last summer. The Headshock was a slow leaker then, but a...
