We have quite a few grades in the 9-10% range, paved and gravel, close enough to ride from my place. Up in the Driftless Area 75 miles north there are grades approaching 15%.

I'm pretty sure that's an ST500. I've seen them sell for under $200 but I buy every one I come across at that price level. Facebook, craigslist, eBay, the classifieds here or other bike forums are all possible places to make a sale. These make nice gravel bikes in my opinion.

Looks like a later (2000 or newer) CAAD4. The early ones came with a threaded carbon fork and used a quill stem. This was the top of the line road frameset at the time and would have come equipped with Shimano 105, Ultegra, or Dura Ace depending on model. £250 sounds like a great price to me.

My guess is a circa 1990 ST700 that's been repainted. Pretty sure 1990 was the last year for caliper brakes on touring frames.

I was thinking of your 1 x builds while riding the Super V 2000. I rode pavement, gravel, and hills on sod and never shifted off the 32. I don't have the low gear of a current 1 x build though, so still need the small ring in the rough stuff.

What model are the shifters? I don't remember 7 speed with V brakes.

It's always hard to distinguish whether a bike came from the factory in the state where we see it currently, whether it was built by a dealer to the customer's preferences, or whether it was changed sometime later.

There is usually enough description in their listings to figure out if they have what you need, but it can involve some measuring.

4:1 ratio is high enough (actually too high) for any bike I will ever ride. In the 80s pro road riders typically had a high gear of 52/13 (4.0) or 52/12 (4.33). And most any road bike sold since then has had a high gear in the same range. Not sure how your tire diameter compares but it's...

My guess would be a hybrid because of the rack mounts. All Cannondales in that era except the track bike would have had at least 2 x 7 gearing.

In those years the serial number could be on the chainstay or the seatstay. They can be hard to find as the paint was so thick. I really can't tell if touring, or hybrid, or MTB from the photos. Wheel size would be the first clue.

That looks like a 2.8 or 3.0 frame, so early to mid 90s vintage. What's the wheel size? Serial number will be helpful.

I had no idea that it wasn't a round post. The only similar vintage Cannondale I own is a 2011 CAADX and it has a round post. Looking at the catalog it appears that the aluminum Synapses had round posts.

If you're going to repaint, I would go with whatever color you like. I doubt that a non original color would hurt the value very much, and we see colors all the time that don't show in the catalogs.

Hopefully Brian will check in on this. I've never seen one sell.

It's a CAAD 3 from the late 90s, so likely an F1000 or F2000. Check out the catalogs and see if any of the components match. Could be a team frame if the sponsor decals are under the clear coat.

What diameter is it? I have one Cannondale carbon seatpost, pretty sure it's 27.2 mm.

3X is for the triple crank. Sora was a fairly low end parts group, usually on R300s. Looks to be a CAAD4 frame. I would check eBay sales of R300s/R400s. Facebook, Craigslist, eBay are probably the best places to sell.
